Two Programs from SLIAC Chosen for Nationals

For just the third time in SLIAC history, the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship will have two programs from the conference represented in the same field. Spalding Univeristy, who won the league's automatic bid by claiming its first-ever conference tournament title, was a given after Saturday's championship. However, on Monday Webster University was announced as a Pool C at-large selection.

Spalding University is making its first-ever NCAA Division III Championship appearance and is 34-10 overall. They won their first-ever SLIAC Tournament, over Webster, becoming just the third team in conference history to claim a title after coming through the loser's bracket. The Golden Eagles will face Baldwin-Wallace on Friday in Granville, Ohio for their opening game of the tournament.

Webster University is making its sixth consecutive national tournament trip and 16th overall appearance. They are 30-14 overall this season and will face Loras College on Friday in Stevens Point, Wisconsin in its tournament opener.

The only other times two teams from the SLIAC made the national tournament in the same season were in 2015 and 2017.
