Baer Ties SLIAC Record

Baer Ties SLIAC Record

Cody Baer put together a career game, tying a SLIAC record in the process, but in the end, it was not enough as his Eureka College Red Devils fell on the road 124-116 to Greenville University.

Baer, a junior playing in his first season with the Red Devils, put up 43 points and 23 rebounds in the game; tying the conference record for rebounds in a game. It marks the third time in conference history a player has tallied 23 rebounds in a game as he joins Spalding's Nick Trisko (1/5/17) and MacMurray's Brent Long (2/3/18) in the record book.

Baer was 16-for-26 from the field including 11-for-11 from the free-throw line in putting up a career-high 43 points. His previous high was 28 points on December 2 against Washington University-St. Louis. He is currently averaging 17.4 points and 10.9 rebounds per game, shooting 54 percent from the field. He is the only player in the SLIAC currently averaging a double-double this season.
