SLIAC Teams Wrap up Midwest Region Play, Webster 4th

A total of six men's golf teams from the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference competed this week in the Midwest Region Classic hosted by Benedictine University at Brighton Dale Golf Links in Kansasville, Illinois. There were a total of 27 teams competing in the annual regional fall meet with Webster University being the highest finishing conference team at #4. 

Webster shot a two-round 605, finishing 12 strokes behind the event winner North Park University. The Gorloks opened with a 299 before shooting a 306 in round two. Jan Wdowka led the Gorloks with a 148, tying for 7th place individually. Trent Garrett shot a 151 to tie for 19th place. 

Illinois College was just behind the Gorloks with a 607 including a 298 in the opening round. Jarrett James was the highest placing SLIAC individual. James shot a 146, closing the tournament with a 71 and finishing 5th overall. Tre Wahlig tied for 12th with a 149. 

Knox College had two teams competing with their highest finish coming from the 'A' group at 7th with a 617. Gabe Newman and Hunter Webb led the Prairie Fire with a 148, tying for 7th.

Lake Forest College tied for 9th as a team with a 623. Teammates Carlos Garcia Bodini and James Johnson tied for the team lead with a 150, tying for 14th overall. 

Fontbonne University placed 17th with a 644. The Griffins opened with a 313 but faded in the second round. Cody McKinney paced the Griffins with a 150, tying for 14th individually. 

Monmouth College was 24th with a 673 and closed out the tournament with their best round, a 328. Ryan Prusak led the team with a 157, tying for 42nd.
