Golden Eagles Open Spring With Win

The Spalding University men's golf team opened its spring season with a 1st place finish in the SU Alabama Invasion. The win is the Golden Eagles' third of the season and second consecutive tournament win, dating back to September. 

Spalding finished with a two-round team score of 611, winning the event by 16 strokes. The Golden Eagles carded a 297 in the opening round and closed out with a 314 in the second round. Nolan Keeler tied for 1st individually with a 148, his first win of the season and fifth in his career. Keeler shot even par in the first round, the only player to do so in the tournament, and finished with a 76 in round two. 

Kendall Hale placed 4th overall with a 153 while Brady Westwood finished tied for 5th. Spalding returns to the course this weekend with competition in the Barton Intercollegiate in Wilson, N.C.
