Knox Tops McNaughton Memorial Field

Knox College claimed the title in the 2023 McNaughton Memorial Classic, winning the one-round event by 10 strokes. The Prairie Fire shot a 295, besting three other SLIAC schools competing in the tournament. The Prairie Fire's Patrick Mattar claimed individual honors with a 70, his lowest round this season. Two of his teammates, Pranav Nandakumar and Shubham Nain, finished tied for 3rd place with a 73. Gabe Newman and Hunter Webb each shot a 74 to tie for 8th place. 

Illinois College finished second in the field with a team score of 305. They were led by Peter Hauser and Tanner Romine who each shot a 73, finishing in a five-way tie for 3rd place. Jarrett James and Sam Frericks both tied for 8th with a 74. 

Blackburn College took 4th place with a 329 and was led by Kevin Hall's 76, tying for 18th place. Westminster College shot a 334 to finish 5th in the six-team field. Cole Lehman was their top golfer, finishing tied for 8th with a 74.
