Cameron Earns Scholar All-America Honors

2022 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Scholar All-America Teams

The United Soccer Coaches have announced the 2022 Scholar All-American teams. For his efforts in the classroom, Tavis Cameron of the Webster men's soccer team was named an NCAA Division III Second Team Scholar All-American for the first time in his career.

Cameron, a senior defender, is a finance major with a 3.65-grade point average. He is just the second player in Gorloks men's soccer history to earn the award as Justin Schmidt was named to the third team in 2018. Cameron was also named to the NCAA Division III Men's Scholar All-North/Central Region Team making him just the third player in program history to earn the award.

Cameron started all 19 games he appeared in for the Gorloks this season. He anchored a back line that allowed just 13 goals all season while leading his team to a 14-3-3 overall record and a SLIAC Regular Season Title. Following the conclusion of the season, he was named the SLIAC Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-SLIAC, the SLIAC All-Academic Team, CSC Academic All-District®, and Second Team All-Region VIII. He is just the second men's soccer player from the SLIAC to achieve Scholar All-America honors, joining former Gorlok Justin Schmit who was named Third Team in 2018.
