Panthers Valiant in Loss to Illinois Tech

Making the program's first-ever appearance at the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championships Greenville University put up a valiant effort but came up short against Illinois Tech by the score of 5-3.

Greenville picked up a win in at #1 doubles with Andres Sanchez and Rafael Rodriguez winning 8-4. Sanchez also notched a 6-4, 6-3 win at #1 singles and Thibaut Tignee won 6-3, 6-2 at #6 singles. 

Those were the only points tallied by the Panthers as they dropped #2 singles, #3 singles, and #4 singles. Austin Burkhart was battling in the third set at #5 singles but his match went unfinished with Illinois Tech notching the match-clinching fifth point. 

The 5-3 loss is the closest match and most points ever scored by a SLIAC team competing at nationals.
