Muren, McCoy Named Academic All-District

2021-22 CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Teams

The College Sports Information Directors of America announced the 2021‐22 Academic All‐District® Men's At‐Large Team. The 2021-22 Academic All-District® Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. For their efforts in the classroom and in their sports, Justin McCoy of men's golf and Riley Muren of men's tennis were both named to the at-large team for NCAA Division III-District 5. This is both McCoy and Muren's first time being named Academic All‐District®.

McCoy, a sophomore golfer out of Savoy, Illinois, is a finance major with a 4.00-grade point average. He finished the 2021-22 men's golf season with a 73.62 scoring average through 26 rounds of golf. He finished the season with two top 10 finishes and two top-five finishes including a top-five finish at the Wittenberg Classic and a top-five finish in the Music City Shootout. Following the conclusion of the SLIAC Men's Golf Championship, McCoy was named Second Team All-SLIAC.

Muren, a graduate student out of O'Fallon, Illinois, is pursuing his Master's in Business Administration and has a 3.96-grade point average. Muren played in the #1 singles spot for Webster all season long and finished the year with an 11-11 overall record. His 11 wins this season pushed his career record to 50-32 which makes him the winningest men's tennis player in singles in Gorlok history. Following the conclusion of the season, Muren was named Second Team All-SLIAC in singles #1.

First‐team Academic All‐District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All‐America® ballot. First‐, second‐, and third‐team Academic All‐America® honorees will be announced in mid‐June.

The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All‐America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020‐21 Divisions II and III Academic All‐America® programs.
