Robinson Named Gorlok Head Coach

Webster University Director of Athletics, Scott Kilgallon, has announced the hiring of Kyle Robinson as the Head Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach as well as the Assistant Men's and Women's Track and Field Coach. Robinson will start on Monday, July 18th.

"We are excited to have Coach Robinson join our team at Webster University to serve as our new Head Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach and Assistant Men's and Women's Track and Field coach." Said Kilgallon. "I was impressed with his recruiting strategies, coaching philosophy, and plans to further develop our programs. Working with Head Track and Field Coach Nick Homan, I am excited for the future of Gorlok Cross Country and Track and Field teams."

Robinson comes to Webster University from Brescia (Ky.) University in Owensboro, Kentucky, where he served as an Assistant Coach and Assistant Sports Information Director since 2019. As an assistant coach, Robinson recruited high school juniors and seniors, developed the mental strength in his athletes, coordinated weekly strength and conditioning exercises, set up the cross country course for home meets, raised awareness of the team within the community, engaged the team in community service projects, and maintained a working knowledge of all campus policies. In addition, he holds a USA Track and Field Level 1 Coaching Certification.

"I am super excited to get started with Coach Robinson this year." Said Head Men's and Women's Track and Field Coach, Nick Homan. "With both of us being younger coaches from similar athletic and coaching backgrounds in the NAIA, we connected pretty quickly when talking and he made me feel confident in what kind of team we can build together here at Webster."

Robinson also served as the Assistant Sports Information Director for the Brescia University Athletic Department. He covered all of Brescia's athletic programs, uploaded photo galleries of Brescia home events, regularly updated Brescia's Spotlight Athlete, updated and maintained the program's rosters and schedules, and updated Brescia Athletics social media pages, and researched methods to improve visits to the website and enhance engagement.

In addition to his contributions to athletics, Robinson also brings volunteer experience to Webster Athletics. In 2016, Robinson taught elementary students life lessons through the Junior Achievement program. He has also led and organized three different volunteer campaigns including a Shoe Drive in 2019 where he collected gently used shoes for Haiti, a Cleaning Drive in 2019 where he collected gently used apparel to donate to the Salvation Army, and a Letter Writing Campaign in 2020 that people wrote supportive letters to residents at the Owensboro Center.

"I would like to thank Scott Kilgallon and Nick Homan for the tremendous opportunity to lead the men's and women's cross country teams and assist with the track & field program. Webster University is a top-notch institution located in a great city and I can't wait to get started." Said Robinson. "We will continue to build these programs with student-athletes of high character and continue to grow the success that Webster's distance program has earned recently."

Robinson graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English from Brescia University in 2019. He then went on to receive his Masters of Science in Management from Brescia in 2021. He served as the Brescia University Track and Field/Cross Country team captain from 2015-2019 and was an NAIA Cross Country National Championship Qualifier in 2018. He was named the River State Conference Bill Melton Champion of Character Award recipient in 2018 and won the Larry W. Hager, Jr. Award for Outstanding Students Demonstrating Service Above Self in 2019.
