Panthers 1st in Classic

Greenville University men's cross country had its best showing this fall, winning the Greenville Classic this past weekend. In a field featuring runners from four other St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference institutions, the Panthers totaled 24 points with three runners finishing in the top six and four in the top ten.

Gianni Estrada won his second straight meet, finishing the 8k course this weekend with a time of 25:02. Joe Gomez finished 3rd overall and Kaleb Carlson finished 4th. Jeremiah Perry and Adam Wellen also picked up top-ten finishes. 

Fontbonne University placed 7th as a team with Dominic Mueller leading the way with a 35th-place finish. The freshman completed the course in a time of 28:50, his best time this fall. 

Blackburn College was 8th as a team with 246 points. Quentin Smith paced the Beavers with a time of 31:46, placing 71st overall.

Eureka College had four runners compete with Bailey Webster leading the way with a 13th-place showing. He finished in a time of 27:28, cracking the 28-minute barrier for the first time this fall.

Westminster College sent three runners with Michael Giles finishing 26th overall with a time of 28:27.
