Pioneers Open Season With Near Record Round

Aided by the second-best 18-hole round in program history, Grinnell College's women's golf team claimed the Norse-Kohawk Invitational Sunday.
 
The Pioneers recorded a score of 294 on the final day of the event for a two-day score of 602 to beat Central College by two strokes. Sunday's round was just three shots off its school record and the two-day round score ranks third all-time.
 
Mary Li '25 finished second overall with a two-day score of 149. Grinnell's best score Sunday came from Aubrie Torhorst '23, who had a 72. Lauren Chen '24, Li and Kavya Keshav '26 all had 74s and Vidushi Keni '26 added an 80.
 
The Pioneers had a second team at the meet, and Parker Perry '24 led that squad Sunday with a 75. Sara Meneses '26 added a 79, Lexi Mueldener '23 had an 80 and Zoe Robinson '23 shot an 88.
