Swope Becomes SLIAC Career Saves Leader

Eureka College senior Abby Swope put her name atop the record books on Tuesday night becoming the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's (SLIAC) all-time saves leader. The Red Devils keeper stopped 18 shots on Tuesday night against Greenville University, pushing her career total to 617 saves during her four seasons with the Red Devils. Swope has led the SLIAC in saves in each of her previous three seasons, tallying over 230 saves in each of her first two full seasons, which both rank in the top ten in SLIAC single-season history. She is also tied for the conference and Eureka's single-game record with 42 saves which she recorded in 2019 when she also became the Red Devils career saves leader. Swope has 33 career double-digit save games in 43 career starts.

The previous mark of 611 was held by Erika Boeckmann of Blackburn College, who played for the Beavers from 2006-09. Swope needs 90 more saves to reach the top 24 in career saves by an NCAA Division III player.
