Sharp's Record Setting Highlights All-Conference Team

Cayden Sharp makes SLIAC Indoor Track and Field history this year by being named the Field Athlete and Track Athlete of the Year for the same season. Sharp collected six individual gold medals, breaking her own previous conference record for most gold at one championship, which she had set twice with five. In the process, Sharp set indoor championship records in the high jump, triple jump, 60-meter hurdles, and 60-meter dash. This is Sharp's third Track Athlete of the Year award in her career and her first Field Athlete of the Year award.

This year's Field Newcomer of the Year is Lainey Hicks, from Greenville University. Hicks finished 3rd in the triple jump and 5th in the long jump. She is the second straight Panther to win the award and the third in four years.

In addition to taking home three top individual awards, Greenville had 28 All-Conference selections in addition to a pair of relay teams earning All-Conference honors.

Rachel Fisher followed up her cross-country season by being named 2023 SLIAC Indoor Track Newcomer of the Year. Fisher took home gold in the 800-meter run, finishing in a time of 2:26. She not only joins her teammate Karissa Heffernan as the first Red Devils to win gold at the SLIAC Championships but to earn All-Conference honors. 

Fontbonne's Alex Lofgren was named All-Conference after picking up the program's third-ever gold medal at the indoor championship while Madelyn Huffstetter earned All-Conference honors in the 60-meter dash.

Westminster College's Moenaisa Sidique was named All-Conference in the 400-meter dash. 

Webster University had four All-Conference individuals along with its 4x400 meter relay team. Vanessa Jones led the way collecting three medals including gold in the pole vault. 

Mirsa Boyer received the only individual All-Conference recognition for Principia College after a 3rd place showing in the pole vault but both her relay teammates also earned honors. Blackburn College's Distance Medley Relay team also received All-Conference recognition.
