Principia College welcomes Geoffrey Davis as its new head coach of the Panther volleyball program.

Davis has 17 years of coaching experience, including 10+ years coaching at the collegiate level. Most notably, Davis was a part of the women's volleyball coaching staff at Washington University in St. Louis that led the Bears to two NCAA Division III National Championships in 2007 and 2009.

More recently, Davis oversaw the complete turnaround of a dormant junior college program as the head coach at St. Louis Community College. He led the Archers to their first 20+ game-winning season in over a decade as well as two regional championship match appearances. On top of his collegiate coaching experience, Davis has also spent 15 years building and running a highly successful women's volleyball club program, with over 185 players going on to compete collegiately.

Director of Athletics, Ann Pierson, is thrilled to hire a coach so well-known in the St. Louis community who is eager to bring his enthusiasm and energy to the Principia Athletics team.

Pierson says, "I can't believe our good fortune. As an assistant coach, Geoffrey helped bring two national titles to Washington University, and he knows how to build a winning team culture. I know Geoffrey will be able to nurture and develop our young volleyball team as well as attract more players who will help make us a force to be reckoned with."

Davis is beyond excited to join the Principia community. He says, "Following closely behind the Panthers' 17-year veteran coach who retired a couple of years ago, I believe the opportunity for success is limitless. Principia offers a premier education and gives athletes the opportunity to impact the world through their talents gained by working hard on and off the court. I consider this job a dream come true!"

Last season's head volleyball coach, Rich Eisenauer, will stay on as Davis' assistant coach. Eisenauer will also serve as the Panthers' interim head coach for softball.
