Four SLIAC Players Earn All-Region Honors, Bordelon Coach of the Year (December 10, 2013)

Four St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference student-athletes have been named to the 2013 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Men's Soccer All-Central Region Team, marking the first time in three seasons the conference has placed multiple players on the All-Region team. SLIAC Announces 2014 Hall of Fame Class (December 11, 2013)
The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) and Commissioner Will Wolper have announced the Hall of Fame Class for 2014. This year's class includes two former standout student-athlete athletes, Fontbonne University's Brian Fogerty and Principia College's Christina Speer, as well as former Principia College Head Coach Seth Johnson....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC

For the second consecutive week Blackburn women's basketball player Ciara Morgan was named the SLIAC Player of the Week. Morgan poured in 24 points and grabbed 22 rebounds in a 112-89 loss to the University of Dubuque. Morgan added seven assists and four steals in the game. Her 22 rebounds are the 7th most in a game in DIII this season.

The Red Devil men's basketball team will conclude a season long four game home stand this week with contests against Lincoln Christian College on Wednesday and Webster University on Saturday. Eureka leads the all-time series 19-2 and defeated Lincoln Christian 74-66 in their last meeting.

Former Fontbonne men's basketball player Brian Fogerty has been selected to the SLIAC Hall of Fame. Fogerty, who played from 2005-09, led the Griffins to three consecutive SLIAC Tournament titles and is the conference's career scoring leader. He currently holds five school records and was twice named the SLIAC Player of the Year.

The Greenville women's basketball team notched their first conference win of the season 97-71 over Blackburn. Emily Gundy sparked the Lady Panthers with 22 points, eight rebounds and six assists. The Lady Panthers offense was on a roll early, scoring 60 points in the first-half and finished the game shooting 52-percent from the field.
The Iowa Wesleyan women's basketball team made noise on the opening week of conference play, picking up a pair of conference wins including a 77-63 victory over preseason favorite Westminster College. The Tigers followed with a 71-64 win over Spalding and now sit at 4-1 overall and atop the SLIAC standings with a 2-0 conference record.
This weekend the MacMurray women's basketball team will host the MacMurray Classic Tournament. The tournament will run on Friday and Saturday with two games each day. Teams will include host MacMurray as well as Greenville College, Saint Mary of the Woods College and Calumet College.
Principia College will be well represented at the 2014 SLIAC Hall of Fame ceremony as former standout Christina Speer and former coach Seth Johnson will be inducted. Speer, a two-sport standout in volleyball and basketball, is the first ever unanimous choice for the Hall of Fame. Johnson was the first Principia coach to guide a team to a national tournament.

Spalding men's soccer player Julio De Leon was named to the 2013 NSCAA All-Region team. De Leon was named All-Central Third Team after recording four goals and 10 assists this season. De Leon led the SLIAC in assists for the second consecutive year.

Kevin Miller was named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week this week after averaging 15.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game including a double-double performance against Greenville College. In that win Miller was 8-of-11 from the field and added two steals.
After their late season run the Westminster College men's soccer team finished the year in the national rankings. The Blue Jays are ranked #20 in the final NCAA Rankings. Westminster closed out the season with a 13-9-1 record, advancing to the Sweet 16 of the Division III National Tournament.
