Women's Basketball Improves to 5-0 With Home Win

The Kansas Christian women's basketball team earned their fifth win of the season and improved to 5-0 in official games with a 63-52 win over Blackburn College in Cowen Memorial Auditorium on Saturday.

The Falcons built up a 17-8 lead by the end of the first quarter. After a low scoring second quarter, the Falcons had the game tied at halftime but used a 42-29 advantage in the second half to pull away for the win. 

Zhira Cephus posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds in the win. Sidnee Bergquist scored 12 points making four three point shots for the Falcons. Danna Wagnon added 11 ponts to round out the double digit scorers. Monique Hunt had the team high in rebounds with 13. Brendeja Holloman pulled down 10 rebounds. 

The women's basketball team heads to Florida next week for three games beginning on Monday when they take on Ave Maria Univeristy in Miami, FL in an exhibition game. The Falcons play an NCCAA game on Wednesday against the Univeristy of Fort Lauderdale and finish the week with another exhibition game against St. Thomas in Miami.
