SLIAC Golf Players of the Week - April 21

St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Golf Player of the Week for April 21, 2022

SLIAC Men's Golf Player of the Week

Ryan Higgins, Lake Forest College

Higgins, a sophomore from South Barrington (IL), is the second forester to be awarded this recognition in the present season. After arguably the busiest weekend in Lake Forest's schedule with a total of two tournaments, Higgins was unanimously voted to be the SLIAC Golf POW because of his constancy and improvement despite inclement weather. On Friday, at the Forester Spring Invite, he shot a total of 79 (+7), helping Lake Forest to finish fifth with a field size of twelve teams. On the next day, after a long trip to Waukesha (WI) for the WLC Spring Invitational, Higgins was able to match his best round of the spring (77 strokes) after a tough start.

SLIAC Women's Golf Player of the Week

Emily Tao, Lake Forest College

Tao is the first lady forester to be named SLIAC Player of the Week this spring. The California native finished first in the Judson Invite, hosted by Judson University at Randall Oaks Golf Club. With a total of 80 (+9) strokes on the first and only round of the one-day tournament, Tao was able to outperform the rest of the competitors and maintain her advantage until the end of the day. The foresters finished fifth with a total of 380 strokes.
