2022 Men's Cross Country Players of the Week

 

 

 

 

October 17, 2022

Gianni Estrada, Greenville University

Estrada captured his second straight win, taking 1st place at the Greenville Classic. He finished last weekend's 8K course in a time of 25:02, besting 77 other runners in the field. His time was among the 10 fastest in program history and two minutes faster than his previous race.

October 10, 2022  

Rex Heath, Principia College

Competing in a field of 70 runners, Heath was the top Division III competition. He completed the 8k course in a time of 26:59, setting a new personal record. The new mark bested his previous time by 17-seconds. 

October 3, 2022  

Cameron Sakuma, Webster University

A senior runner for the Gorloks, Sakuma finished his 8K race in a time of 27:10, his fastest time this fall. He placed 9th out of a loaded field of 412 runners in the Louisville Classic. 

September 26, 2022  

Rex Heath, Principia College

In a field of all conference runners, Heath took first place at the North Farm Mini Meet. The freshman runner finished the 5k course in a time of 17-minutes flat, besting the other 16 runners in the race. He started the race with a 5:09 first mile and held on for his first collegiate win.

September 19, 2022  

Jeremiah Perry, Greenville University

Perry raced to an 11th place showing at the Tiger Invitational, helping the Panthers to a 3rd place team finish. Perry completed the 8k course in a time of 27:43, working his way through a field of 130 runners and leading his team by 30-seconds over their next finisher. 

September 12, 2022  

Cameron Sakuma, Webster University

Sakuma paced the Gorloks at the Twilight Invite this past weekend; finishing in the top 100 in a field of 240 runners. The senior completed the 8k course in a time of 27:23, marking his fastest time in a race of that length since 2019. 

September 6, 2022  

Rex Heath, Principia College

A freshman runner, Heath opened his collegiate career with a 3rd place finish at the Principia Opener. Running on the 6k course he finished with a time of 20:22 and was the top finisher in a field that featured runners from four other conference schools.
