2022 Women's Soccer Players of the Week

October 31, 2022  
Offensive Player of the Week
 

Ashlie Johnston Cabral, Greenville University

A freshman striker she finished with four goals and one assist in helping the Panthers to a pair of wins last week. She netted a hat trick against Eureka, including the game-winning goal. She followed with a goal and assist in a 2-1 win over Spalding. She finished with 9 points on the week.

Defensive Player of the Week    
 

Reyce Reller, Webster University

Reller, a sophomore, led the Gorlok defense to a pair of shutout wins last week while also contributing offensively. The Gorloks blanked both Spalding and Blackburn while Reller added one goal and one assist on the week.

Offensive Player of the Week    
 

Krystal Kohenskey, Fontbonne University

Kohenskey picks up her second weekly award this season after netting four goals with two assists in two wins last week. She had the game-winning goal against Blackburn and followed with three goals and two assists against Eureka. She finished the week with 10 points and 18 shots.

Defensive Player of the Week
 

Taryn Banfield, Webster University

Banfield registered her 31st career shutout for the Gorloks in a win over Eureka last week. The senior keeper is now the program leader in shutouts and lowers her goals-against average this season to 0.93.

Offensive Player of the Week
 

Grace Rodgers, Webster University

Rodgers finished her week with two big timely goals for the Gorloks. She scored the game's only goal in a 1-0 win over Greenville and was a force all game long, getting off eight shots. Three days later she tallied the game-winner once again, this time in a 2-0 win over Westminster while adding an assist as well.

Defensive Player of the Week
 

Mary Beers, Fontbonne University

Beers continues her record-setting season and picks up her second consecutive weekly award. The senior keeper recorded two more shutout wins last week, tying the conference record with 44 career wins and setting the SLIAC mark for consecutive scoreless minutes. Beers totaled five saves in the two games as Fontbonne has now shut out 10 straight opponents.

Offensive Player of the Week
 

Ashlie Johnston Cabral, Greenville University

Johnston Cabral tallied 10 points in two games for the Panthers last week. The freshman scored four goals in a win over Eureka and added another goal in a victory over Principia. The forward notched the game-winning goal in both games.

Defensive Player of the Week  
 

Mary Beers, Fontbonne University

Beers played two clean sheets for the Griffins last week. She had one save in a win over Principia and followed with two saves in a shutout win over Webster. Beers now has 31 career shutouts, a SLIAC record.

Offensive Player of the Week  
 

Grace Rodgers, Webster University

Rodgers led the way for the Gorloks attack, tallying three goals and two assists in three games last week. She finished with eight points and helped Webster to a pair of wins. Rodgers had two goals and two assists in a win over Eureka and followed with one goal in a win over Principia.

Reaghan Young, Webster University

Young was effective on both ends of the field. The senior defender anchored a Gorlok defense that picked up two shutout wins over conference opponents. She also added two goals and two assists in the win over Eureka and an assist in the win over Principia.

Offensive Player of the Week  
   

Viviane de Castro, Principia College

A senior, de Castro, tallied four goals and one assist in two conference wins last week for the Panthers. She a hat trick against Eureka, scoring all three goals in a 20-minute span during the first half. She added an assist on her team's 6th goal of the game. She followed with another goal in a win over Blackburn and finished the week with nine points.

Megan Davidson, Westminster College

Davidson was key in net for the Blue Jays last week, stopping 20 of 22 shots she faced on the week. She had 15 saves while allowing just one goal, in a loss to Fontbonne. She followed with five more saves in a 1-1 tie against Webster. In 180 minutes of action, she finished with a .909 save percentage.

Offensive Player of the Week  
 

Krystal Kohenskey, Fontbonne University

Kohenskey was key in helping the Griffins to a pair of conference wins last week. She recorded one goal and one assist in each game, helping top Spalding and then scoring the game-winner against Webster. On the week she totaled 2 goals and 2 assists on 14 shots and moved into 2nd place on the program's career assist list. 

Defensive Player of the Week  
 

Lizzie Brooksher, Eureka College

A freshman keeper for the Red Devils, Brooksher finished the week with 22 saves and a 1.00 goals-against average with a .917 save percentage on the week. She picked up a shutout win over Blackburn, making seven saves, and closed out the week with 15 saves against Westminster.

Offensive Player of the Week  
 

Hannah Shylanski, Westminster College

A freshman forward Shylanski netted a pair of goals in helping the Blue Jays to a 4-2 win over Ozarks. Shylanski scored her first collegiate goal just 30-seconds into the game and added her second at the 30-minute mark. She did her damage on five shots in the game.

Angie Calabrese, Webster University

Calabrese, a junior defender, helped the Gorloks to a win last week while holding opponents to three goals in two games. She also scored the game-winner in a 3-1 win over Benedictine. 

September 6, 2022  
Offensive Player of the Week  
 

Baeli Young, Spalding University

Young wasted little time in getting off on the right foot to the season, recording three goals and two assists in her team's 5-0 win over Berea. The junior set up the game's first goal and then buried two first-half goals. She set up the fourth goal of the game and completed her hat trick with a goal in the final 30-seconds of the game.

Defensive Player of the Week
 

Leslie Barrera, Principia College

A sophomore keeper, Leslie Barrera recorded five saves in a 3-0 win over Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis. Barrera played nearly 85-minutes of shutout action and one of her five saves was on a breakaway.
