Westminster Junior Selected for NCAA Sports Summit

FULTON, Mo. - Westminster College's Courtney Luebbert, a junior from Jefferson City, Missouri (Helias High School), has been accepted to participate in the inaugural 2011 NCAA Sports and Entertainment Summit, which will take place March 4–6, 2011, at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, California. Luebbert is majoring in business communications with a focus in sports marketing, and is a three-year member of the Blue Jay women's soccer squad.

The NCAA Sports and Entertainment Summit will give selected student-athletes the opportunity to explore the sports and entertainment industries from the perspective of the professionals who currently work in the fields of entertainment arena, sports media talent and sports media executives. The Entertainment Summit will be interactive, educational and inspiring and include panel discussions, educational workshops and a community service project. It is focused on student-athletes who have a desire to pursue careers in entertainment (i.e. film, television, music) and/or sports media upon graduation.

The student-athlete attending the event must be junior or senior status and have a strong interest in sports media or entertainment. Attendance at the Sports and Entertainment Summit is free. The NCAA pays for airfare or mileage, shuttle transportation, lodging (Friday through Sunday only) and meal costs.
