2017 Men's Cross Country Players of the Week

October 16
Shane Witters Hicks, Principia College
Witters Hicks, a senior from Golden, Colo., picks up his fourth weekly conference award this season after his performance at the Cowbell Classic. Witters Hicks completed the 8K course in a time of 25:36, a new personal best on the home course. He finished 23rd out of a field of 354 runners that was filled with nationally ranked teams.

October 2
Andrew Sharp, Greenville University
Sharp, a junior from Altamont, Ill., is honored with the weekly award after setting a season-best time in the 8K at the H.W. Wright Classic. Sharp completed the course in a time of 25:22, his best time in nearly two years and finished 11th overall in a field of 118 runners.

September 25
Shane Witters Hicks, Principia College
Witters-Hicks, a senior from Golden, Colo., picks up his third weekly honor this fall after taking 2nd place at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational. Battling hot conditions Witters-Hicks managed to finish the race with a time of 20:24, just five seconds behind the leader. 

September 18
Jacob Dixon, Fontbonne University
Dixon, a freshman from Sullivan, Mo., competed in his first 8K race for the Griffins this past weekend. In a field of 57 runners, Dixon finished 18th among non-Division I competitors with a time of 31:40. 

September 11
Shane Witters Hicks, Principia College
Witters-Hicks picks up his second weekly award in as many weeks after a top-five finish at the Les Duke Invitational. Witters-Hicks, from Golden, Colo., ran a personal best of 25:14 over the 8K course, finishing 4th out of 163 runners in the field.

September 5
Shane Witters Hicks, Principia College
Witters-Hicks, from Golden, Colo., took 4th place at the Principia Open, finishing just behind three competitors that raced in the 2016 NCAA Division III Nationals. Witters-Hicks finished the 6K course in a time of 18:41 in a field that included the defending national champions, North Central.
