2007 Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week

Oct 15-21
Alex Weatherby (Fontbonne)
Fontbonne University's Alex Weatherby, a freshman from St. Louis, Mo. (Soldan), has been named the SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of October 15-21.

Weatherby posted a time of 22:23 to finish in fifth place. Fontbonne placed second out of five teams competing.

 

Oct 8-14
Jamie O'Connor (Greenville)
Greenville College's Jamie O'Connor, a senior from Indianapolis, Ind. (Ben Davis), has been named the SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of October 8-14.

O'Connor finished fourth out of 59 runners at the Illinois College Cross Country Invitational. She ran the 5K course in 20:13 to help Greenville to a second place finish out of five teams competing.

 

Oct 1-7
Erin McEnaney (Maryville (Mo.))
Maryville University's Erin McEnaney, a junior from St. Paul, Mo. (St. Dominic), has been named the SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of October 1-7.

McEnaney recorded a season-best time of 22:59 at the Illinois/Missouri Border Wars hosted by Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. She place 140th out of 213 total runners on the 5K course.

 

Sep 24-30
Rachel Hanson (Fontbonne)
Fontbonne University's Rachel Hanson, a freshman from Clarksville, Tenn. (Rossview), has been named the SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of September 24-30. This is Hanson's second time this season to earn the honor.

Hanson placed second overall on a hilly, challenging 5K course at the Gary Stoner Invitational hosted by Central Methodist University. She posted a time of 20:09, finishing 19 seconds behind the leader from CMU.

Fontbonne finished third overall behind host Central Methodist and Lincoln University.

 

Sep 17-23
Liz Derstine (Greenville)
Greenville College's Liz Derstine, a senior from Schwenksville, Pa. (Christopher Dock Mennonite), has been named the SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of September 17-23.

Derstine placed 94th out of 352 runners at the Brissman/Lundeen Invitational hosted by Augustana College (Ill.). She was Greenville's second finisher on the 6K course, posting a time of 25:07, 28 seconds faster than her time last year on the same course.

Greenville placed 16th out of 26 teams competing.

 

Sep 10-16
Rachel Hanson (Fontbonne)
Fontbonne University's Rachel Hanson, a freshman from Clarksville, Tenn. (Rossview), has been named the SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of September 10-16.

Hanson placed eighth overall out of 84 runners competing at the Maryville Cross Country Classic. She posted a time of 21:04 on the 5K course and led her team to a fourth place finish.

 

Sep 3-9
Jennifer Sutton (Greenville)
Greenville College's Jennifer Sutton, a sophomore from Springport, Mich. (Jackson), has been named the SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of September 3-9.

Sutton ran a time of 20:33 at the Bradley Open hosted by Bradley University. She placed 19th out of 103 runners competing and led the Panthers to a seventh place finish out of 12 teams overall.

 

Aug 27-Sep 2
Mary Ackerman (Eureka)
Eureka College's Mary Ackerman, a freshman from Morton, Ill., has been named the SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of August 27-September 2.

Ackerman posted a time of 18:20.69 in her first collegiate 4K race. The Red Devils competed at the Elmhurst Early Bird Invitational, where Ackerman placed 117th out of 181 total runners. Eureka did not post a team score.
