Panthers Headed To Bloomington

The Greenville women's volleyball team has been placed in the Bloomington regional, hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University.  The Panthers qualified for their fourth NCAA national tournament and third consecutive by winning the championship of the SLIAC tournament.

Greenville (26-7) will play the Millikin Big Blue on Thursday at 3 p.m. The winners of first round matches will meet in the regional semifinals at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Friday.  The regional championship is slated for Saturday.

Other teams in the eight-team regional include Washington-St. Louis, Calvin, Carthage, Concordia (Wis.), Chicago, and Illinois Wesleyan. If the Panthers win their first round game, they would play on Friday against the winner of Washington-St. Louis and Calvin.

The Panthers went 0-1 this season against teams in their regional and NCAA field, picking up a three-set loss to Washington-St. Louis on Oct. 31. The Panthers gained key non-conference wins this season against Earlham, Monmouth, Dominican, and Elmhurst.
