Keen Places 1st at Fall Invite

The Prairie Fire women's golf team finished fourth at the Illinois College Fall Invite on Sunday and Monday.

Shelby Keen earned medalist honors after shooting a 75 on day two to finish with a total of 154 strokes. Sam Nichols finished second with a two round total of 158.

The team finished with a two round total of 732 after shooting a 353, their lowest round of the season.

"These Ladies are so fun to watch and we are lucky to have them at Knox," said head coach KC Harding. "I am very happy that our team shot the best score of the year and Shelby and Sam were able to bring home some hardware as well. I hope this is the confidence booster we needed before we head into conference next week. They all continue to work hard and the effort is paying off. I have a good feeling the solid play will follow over into tomorrow's event. Shelby won the Tiger Classic with Sam right behind her last year so it would be pretty special to do it again this year."

Knox travels to Iowa Wesleyan on October 1 for a one day event.
