Greenville Volleyball Wins SLIAC Tournament to Earn First Bid to NCAA Tourney

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The Greenville College volleyball team won the 2010 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) tournament championship for the first time in school history Saturday night as the Lady Panthers (26-5) swept Webster University in three sets 25-15, 25-16, 25-20. Greenville advances to the NCAA tournament for the first time and becomes the first women's team in Greenville College history to play in the NCAA tournament.

Jessica Dothager was Greenville's offensive and defensive catalyst in the championship match, posting 11 kills, one solo block, and two block assists over the three sets. Corrinne Coon followed Dothager with seven kills in accumulated in the third set.

Alyssa Cliffe and Jenna Marcotte thwarted Webster's attack with 14 and 11 digs, respectively.

Greenville will prepare for NCAA tournament play as they await the official announcement on Monday at 10 a.m. of their regional assignment and opponent.
