Knox Places 1st at SLIAC Fall Preview
Knox College won the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golf Fall Preview, shooting a one-round team score of 306. The Prairie Fire topped the SLIAC only field by nine strokes, shooting 22 over par for the event.
Patrick Mattar not only led Knox with a 73 but was the top individual finisher. Joining him in the top ten finishers were teammates Luis Liendo (77), Brendan Wise (78), and Jason White (78).
Illinois College was 2nd with a 315 and was led by Tanner Romine with a 74, finishing in 2nd overall.
Paul Henderson paced Fontbonne University, who finished 3rd, with a 76 and tied for 4th individually.
Monmouth College followed with a 330 while Fontbonne's 'B' team came in 5th with a 338. Westminster College shot a 353 and was followed by Blackburn College (371), Grinnell College (391), and Eureka College (393).
Iowa Wesleyan University and MacMurray College also competed but did not bring a full team for scoring purposes.
