SLIAC Men's Golf Championship - Day 2

There was a change on the leaderboard on day two of the 2023 SLIAC Men's Golf Championship. For just the 12th time in tournament history a team carded 290 or better; this time it was the Golden Eagles from Spalding University. That score is the lowest round by the Golden Eagles at the conference tournament since 2014. The Golden Eagles cut 11 strokes off their team score from yesterday and enter the final round tomorrow with a three-stroke lead.

Kendall Hale followed suit individually, taking the top spot on the individual leaderboard. Hale carded a 70, two strokes lower than yesterday, and sits 1st with a 142. His teammate Nolan Keeler is tied for 2nd with a 144 and has shot even par in the first two rounds.

Webster University, the leader after day one, is in second place with a 594. Webster shot a second-round 295 with Jan Wdowka leading the way. The freshman shot a tournament-low round of 68 and is tied for 2nd individually with a 144. Two more Gorloks are in the top 8 of the individual leaderboard, Justin McCoy and Joshua Hayes.

Lake Forest College once again shot a team score of 302, their second consecutive round with an identical score. Chris Petri moved up five spots on the day and is tied for 4th individually with a 148. The final round of the 2023 SLIAC Men's Golf Championship will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25.
