Baudendistel Named Academic All-America

The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Wednesday the 2022-23 Academic All-America® women's basketball teams for NCAA Division I-II-III and NAIA. For her efforts on the court and in the classroom, Julie Baudendistel was named a CSC Division III Second Team Academic All-America®. She is the first player from the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference to be named Academic All-America since 2019 and just the fifth in conference history.

This award is voted on by members of the College Sports Communicator and recognizes student-athletes for their accomplishments on the court and in the classroom. The organization recognized 15 total student-athletes across the country as CSC Division III Academic All-America®.

Baudendistel is an exercise science major with a 3.98 grade point average. She is the first Gorlok in program history to earn Academic All-America® honors.

Baudendistel, a senior out of St. Louis, Missouri, was a key component to the Gorloks' success this season. She started all 28 games for Webster and averaged a team-high 15.1 points and 2.2 steals per contest. She averaged a second-best 6.4 rebounds per game while shooting 45.5 percent from the field and 72.1 percent from the free throw line. She recorded three double-doubles on the season including back-to-back games where she scored a career-high 30 points and pulled down 10 rebounds and then followed that up with 21 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. Earlier this season, Baudendistel became just the ninth player in Webster history to surpass the 1,000-career point mark. She currently ranks fourth all-time with 1,254 career points. Following the conclusion of the season, Baudendistel was named First Team All-SLIAC, to the SLIAC All-Academic Team, D3Hoop.com Third Team All-Region VIII, and to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team.

The Division III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Division III Academic All-America® program.
