Grinnell Setting Championship Pace

ROUND 1 RESULTS

The Grinnell College women's golf team quickly set the pace on the opening day of the 2022 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship. The Pioneers carded a 302 in the opening round and with two groups of five players competing, had seven of the top ten individual golfers after day one. Mary Li and Vidushi Keni are tied at the top of the leaderboard with a 75 but teammates Lauren Chen and Kavya Keshave are just one stroke back. Sara Meneses, Amy Nguyen, and Zoe Robinson also all shot under 80 and are within striking distance of an individual title. 

Illinois College carded a 334 with Kate Burr leading the way. Burr, playing in the fourth spot in the lineup, shot a 78 and is tied for 5th individually. 

Lake Forest College is just behind IC with a team score of 337. Sydney Foulon heads up the list of Forresters with an 82, good for 10th. Gabrielle Krebs and Alijah Campbell are one-shot back.

Spalding University is in 4th place on the team scoring with a 341. Jordan Harris leads the way with a 78, tying for 5th place individually. 

Fontbonne University sits in 5th place with a team score of 403. Grace Harlin led the Griffins with a 91. 

Westminster College rounds out the team scoring with a 545. Hannah Meyers shot a 125 to lead the team. 

Eureka College was unable to complete its opening round due to darkness and will conclude the round with an 8:30 a.m. start tomorrow before teeing off for round two later in the afternoon.

Two programs sent golfers to compete as individuals. Blackburn College was paced by Tess Saathoff and Monmouth College's Amanda Stevens finished with a 92. 

Round 2 of the 2022 SLIAC Women's Golf Championship tees off on Sunday at 10 a.m.
