The Webster University women's soccer team notched their 10th St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship in program history, setting a new conference high for tournament titles; breaking a tie with Principia College who has nine.

It was a defensive battle all day long between the top two seeds in the tournament, top-seed and host Webster and #2 seed Greenville University. The two teams kept each at bay for the most part with the majority of shots coming from distance.

Webster was able to push the pace of play in the game with their forwards. With Greenville shadowing Webster's Melissa Kasper, the SLIAC Offensive Player of the Year, it was up to her teammate Savannah Page to try and get past the Greenville defense. Page worked hard, getting off a game-high seven shots including four on goal.

However, Greenville keeper Marjory Coates made several standouts stops to keep the Gorloks off the board. Webster and Greenville would go into halftime with zeroes on the board and it looked like the game could go to overtime.

But Webster finally saw their constant push pay off with just under five minutes on the board. It was Page that started the play for Webster, putting a shot on net from just inside the box. The shot was denied by Coates but remained loose where Jordan Bilyeu wasted no time in striking it into the back of the net.

Greenville was able to work the ball downfield and get off two of their five second-half shots in the final four minutes of action but Gorlok keeper Taryn Banfield was able to stop both attempts and secure the win for Webster.

Webster outshot Greenville 21-11 in the game and claims the conference's automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer National Tournament.
