Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
 

Francisco Javier Saldana, Iowa Wesleyan University

Saldana, a sophomore, had a busy week for the Tigers; netting four goals in just two games. He scored his team's lone goal against Simpson, managing to do so on his only shot. He followed that outing by tallying a hat trick and propelling his team to a 6-0 win over Blackburn. Saldana got off eight shots in the game and finished the week with 8 total points, one game-winning goal, and a shot percentage of .444.

Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
 

Trevor Massa, Spalding University

Massa receives his 3rd Player of the Week award this fall after helping lead the Golden Eagles to a 2-0 win over Fontbonne University. Massa, a sophomore from Paducah, Ky., stopped all 4 shots he faced in net to record his second shutout of the season. He is currently 1st in the SLIAC in minutes played and wins. 

Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week 
 

Avery O'Hara, Spalding University

O'Hara picks up her first weekly honor after picking up her team and leading them to a 2-1 win over Fontbonne. The sophomore forward from Hopkinsville, Ky. scored both of her team's goals in the come from behind victory, the program's first-ever against the Griffins in 11 tries. O'Hara tallied the tying goal in the 33rd minute and the game-winner in the 56th minute.

Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
 

Kayla Strehle, Spalding University

Strehle, a sophomore from Orlando, Fla., secures the Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award after sparking her team to a 2-1 win over Fontbonne. Strehle stopped 8 shots in the game, including four more in the game's final 33-minutes to hold onto the Spalding lead. 

Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week 
 

Eryka Wanyonyi, Westminster College

Wanyonyi, a freshman from Columbia, Mo., picks up her first Player of the Week nod. The outside hitter was a key part of the Blue Jays pair of conference wins last week, averaging 5.13 kills per set. She had a high of 24 kills against Greenville and totaled 41 kills in the two matches combined. Wanyonyi hit .304 for the week and added 32 digs, averaging 4.0 per set, along with three service aces. She finished the week with 44.5 total points, averaging 5.6 per set.

Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week 
 

Erica Schrader, Westminster

Schrader, a sophomore from St. Louis, Mo., picks up Defensive Player of the Week honors this week. The defensive specialist finished with 35 digs in two conference wins last week. She had a high of 21 digs against Greenville and averaged 4.38 digs per set on the week. Schrader also added five assists and two service aces.

Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week 
 

Dane Thomas, Spalding University

Thomas, a sophomore from Louisville, Ky., raced his way to a time of 26:56 in last weekend's Greater Louisville Classic. Competing in a field of nearly 300 runners Thomas finished 168th overall. He cut nearly three-minutes off his previous season-best time on an 8K course and captured his first top team finish this season. 

Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week 
 

Charlotte Blair, Westminster College

Blair, a senior from Montreal, Mo., ran a personal best time of 21:32 at the Columbia College Show Me Showdown last weekend. She finished 46th overall in the field of 81 and this is her first-ever Player of the Week honor.

  • Ben Aziz, Webster University (Men's Soccer) Recorded 2 goals and 1 assist against Eureka.
  • Anna Finch, Greenville University (Volleyball) Tallied 17 kills and 4 blocks against Westminster while hitting .466 on the week.
  • Kamryn Flesner, MacMurray College (Volleyball) Finished with 22 kills and 10 digs in a five-set win over Spalding.
  • Jared McPeek, Greenville University (Men's Soccer) Scored both Panther goals in a 2-1 win over Westminster. 
  • Maura Rabun, Fontbonne University (Volleyball) Hit .516 in two matches for the Griffins, totaling 18 kills. 
  • Carissa Smith, MacMurray College (Volleyball) Recorded 29 digs in a win over Spalding.
  • Cheleena Squib, Iowa Wesleyan University (Women's Soccer) Stopped 16 shots in a loss to Blackburn.
  • Abby Swope, Eureka College (Women's Soccer) Made 12 saves against Webster, pushing her career mark to 366 and moving into 3rd place all-time in program history.
