Brock Butler and Alex Martin are the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week for February 5, 2018. This marks Butler's second award this season while Martin is taking home her first.
SLIAC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - FEBRUARY 5 Brock Butler, Iowa Wesleyan University This week's SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week is Iowa Wesleyan's Brock Butler. Butler, a senior guard, averaged 36.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game last week while achieving impressive shooting percentages. Butler poured in a career-high 46 points in an overtime game against Blackburn, shooting 14-of-25 from the field while knocking down five three's and going 13-of-14 from the line. He followed with 27 points and 9 rebounds in a win over Webster. On the week he shot 53-percent from the field, 44-percent from three-point range, and 88-percent from the free-throw line. |

SLIAC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - FEBRUARY 5 Alex Martin, Spalding University Alex Martin kept the Golden Eagles playoff hopes alive by helping Spalding to a pair of conference wins last week and leading them in nearly every statistical category. Martin, a junior guard, averaged 18.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 2.5 steals over the two games. Her big outing came in a win over Eureka when she narrowly missed a triple-double. Martin finished the game with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists. |
