Haugen and Moore Selected Academic All-District

This afternoon the 2021 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Teams, selected by CoSIDA, were announced. For their efforts on the field and in the classroom, Tanner Haugen and Mark Moore were both named to the District 5 team.

The 2021 Academic All-District® Men's and Soccer Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and the NAIA.

Haugen, a defender out of Jefferson City, Missouri, is a Sport Management major with a 3.64-grade point average. He started 20 games for the Gorloks this season while recording one goal and four assists. He has played a major role for the Gorloks backline that has allowed just 12 goals all season while recording 12 shutouts on the year. He was named SLIAC Defensive Player of the Week one time this season and earned First Team All-SLIAC honors. This is his second straight CoSIDA Academic All-District® selection.

Moore, a forward out of Hillsboro, Missouri, is a Biology major with a 3.75-grade point average. He appeared in 21 games for the Gorloks this season while making 15 starts. He currently sits second on the team with 11 goals and added seven assists for 29 total points on the year. He scored a team-high six game-winning goals on the season and led the team with 39 shots on goal. He was named First Team All-SLIAC and earned the SLIAC Offensive Player of the Week award once this season.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First, Second, and Third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
