Marcum Breaks SLIAC Record for Triples

Over the weekend Spalding University outfielder Grayce Marcum broke the SLIAC record for triples in a season with her 11th three-bagger of 2023. Marcum hit her record-breaking triple in game two of a doubleheader against Eureka on April 29, going 3-for-4 in the game. 

Marcum, a sophomore, has 11 triples this season including two games with multiple triples. She breaks the previous record of 10 held by Olivia Reichert of Maryville University in 2000. Marcum is currently hitting .402 on the season with 4 home runs, 37 RBI, and 35 runs scored. She currently ranks second in NCAA Division III in triples this season. Marcum has 17 career triples, ranking her tied for 3rd on the SLIAC all-time list. The record is 24 held by Reichert from 1998-2000.
