The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week for March 6, 2023

Diamond Sports Baseball Hitter of the Week
  Thomas Purschke, Fontbonne University

The senior infielder batted .400 with 5 RBI in two games last week, helping the Griffins to one win. Purschke went 1-for-5 in the first game of the week, driving in one run. He followed by going 3-for-5 with two runs scored and four RBI. On the week he finished 4-for-10 at the plate with a .700 slugging percentage and a .455 on-base percentage.

Diamond Sports Pitcher of the Week
  Mike Dunne, Eureka College

Dunne was nearly hittable in two outings last week, compiling 18 strikeouts over 7 innings while allowing just two hits. In his first appearance, the sophomore worked three scoreless innings of relief, striking out seven and picking up the win. He followed by throwing four innings in a start, striking out 11. He finished the week with a 1.29 earned-run average.

Men's Golf Player of the Week
  Nolan Keeler, Spalding University

Keeler led the Golden Eagles to a 1st place finish at the SU Alabama Invasion. The junior carded a two-round 148, recording the 5th win of his career and first this season. This is Spalding's second consecutive tournament win, dating back to the fall.

Women's Golf Player of the Week
  Jordan Harris, Spalding University

Harris picked up her first collegiate win over the weekend, finishing 1st at the SU Alabama Invasion with a 165 over two rounds. She won the event by one stroke and helped Spalding to its first tournament win this season. 

Other Notables

  • Alek Elges, Webster University (Baseball) Threw 6 innings of four-hit ball, striking out nine in a win over DePauw.
  • Luke Fleener, Greenville University (Baseball) Worked a total of 12 innings on the week, striking out 10 and allowing just one run on eight hits.
