Diamond Sports Baseball Hitter of the Week  
 

Garrett Wilson, Spalding University

Wilson continues his hot hitting, putting together a .500 batting average last week to earn SLIAC/Diamond Sports Hitter of the Week honors. The senior outfielder finished 7-of-14 at the plate over three games, helping the Golden Eagles to three wins. He tallied multiple hits in all three games while driving in six and scoring five times. Wilson also added two stolen bases. He finished with a .529 on-base percentage and .714 slugging percentage for the week while playing errorless defense and recording one outfield assist.

Diamond Sports Baseball Pitcher of the Week
 

Garrett Mathews, Spalding University

Mathews receives his second weekly award this spring after recording his first collegiate win. The freshman pitcher from Louisville, Ky., worked 8 innings against Penn-State Behrend for the victory. He allowed just five hits while working eight scoreless innings, striking out six and walking just one. 

Softball Hitter of the Week
 

Hannah Miener, Fontbonne University

Miener picks up her second straight award after hitting .400 on the week while scoring one run and stealing one base. Miener went 2-for-3 in game two of a doubleheader against Carroll, scoring one run and stealing one base. One of her two hits went for a double and she recorded 16 putouts on defense.

Softball Pitcher of the Week
 

Abby Richmond, Fontbonne University

Richmond, a sophomore from Ballwin, Mo., worked 2 1/3 scoreless innings against Carroll to take weekly honors. Richmond came out of the bullpen in the game and allowed no runners to reach base in her appearance. 

Men's Tennis Player of the Week
 

Riley Muren, Webster University

Muren is the first SLIAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the 2020 season. The senior from O'Fallon, Ill., picked up a pair of wins last week against Simpson. He won 6-2, 6-1 at #1 singles and followed with an 8-4 victory at #1 doubles, teaming with Tanner Haugen. The wins accounted for two of the four points the Gorloks garnered in their match against Simpson. 

Women's Tennis Player of the Week  
 

Erin Brezovar, Webster University

Brezovar, a freshman from Muskego, Wis., notched four wins for the Gorloks. She came from behind against Coe at #2 singles to win 1-6, 6-4, and 10-6; then followed with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Central. Brezovar added a pair of wins with Maggie Federhofer at #1 doubles. 

  • Branden Beeler, Westminster College (Baseball) Recorded five hits and six RBI in the first two games of a weekend series against Eureka.
  • Skyler Dickneite, Westminster College (Baseball) Struck out 11 in just 4 2/3 innings against Eureka.
  • Adam Lovell, Webster University (Baseball) Picked up three hits while stealing four bases in a win over Wisconsin-Oshkosh. 
  • Gus Purschke, Fontbonne University (Baseball) Went 4-for-5 with a home run and stolen base against Illinois Wesleyan.
  • Greg Sovie, Principia College (Men's Tennis) Was 2-0 on the week with wins over Simpson.
