Blackburn Wins First Ever SLIAC Sportsmanship Award
For the first time in conference history, Blackburn College has won the SLIAC Sportsmanship Award. The award is presented to the school that accumulates the most points throughout the school year in team sportsmanship voting. Voting is conducted by league coaches at the end of each sport season. Voting is based on the team whose players, coaches, and fans best exhibit the principles of good sportsmanship.
Blackburn won seven Team Sportsmanship awards during the 2022-23 year and had another 2nd place and one 3rd place finish. The Beavers were recognized by their peers as the league's team award winner in the following sports: Men's Cross Country, Women's Cross Country, Women's Track and Field, Men's Soccer, and Women's Soccer, Baseball, and Softball
