Tankins Tallies 1,000th Career Point

Webster University concluded the home portion of its 2019-20 regular-season men's basketball schedule here Wednesday evening by rallying for an 88-79 win over Eureka College on Senior Night at Grant Gymnasium to earn its second consecutive St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular-season championship. 

The Gorloks, who have now won a league-best 10 regular-season titles, improved its overall record to 16-8 and its league record to 15-2 heading into Saturday's regular-season finale at Iowa Wesleyan. Along with earning its second consecutive regular-season title, Wednesday's victory extended Webster's win streak to nine straight games and its home win streak in SLIAC play to 21 consecutive games dating to the 2017-18 season. 

Prior to Wednesday's game, the Gorloks honored its five-member senior class in a pregame ceremony as this year's seniors are guard Blake Ferrell (Ballwin, Mo./Parkway South), guard Jordan Clay (St. Louis, Mo./Blackburn College), guard Aron Hopp (Lincoln, Ill./Lincoln College), guard Josh Johnson (St. Louis, Mo./Clayton) and forward Enrique Tankins (Wentzville, Mo./Timberland). 

Tankins celebrated his senior day by scoring his 1,000th career point in front of the home crowd. Tankins reached the milestone at 5:46 of the second-half by knocking down a pair of free-throws.
