SLIAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week - September 26

This week's SLIAC Players of the Week include James Bowen, from Eureka College and Kyle Hertel, from Webster University.


SLIAC MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK (OFFENSIVE)
JAMES BOWEN - EUREKA COLLEGE

James Bowen is the SLIAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. Bowen totaled two goals and an assist in three games last week, helping the Red Devils to a pair of wins. Bowen helped set up the game tying goal in his team's 2-1 win over Blackburn. He followed by scoring the only two goals of the game in a 2-0 win over MacMurray. He currently leads the conference in both total points (17) and goals scored (7).

 

SLIAC MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK (DEFENSIVE)
KYLE HERTEL - WEBSTER UNIVERSITY

Kyle Hertel, a freshman from Sandpoint, Idaho, is the SLIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Making just his second start this season Hertel recorded a shutout win over Greenville College. Hertel stopped all three shots he faced as he recorded his first collegiate win in the Gorloks' 2016 SLIAC opener.

  • Reed Gwillim, Blackburn College (Men's Soccer) Gwillim notched two goals, including the game-winner, in a 3-1 win over Iowa Wesleyan.
