SLIAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week - October 31

This week's SLIAC Players of the Week include: Joey Lesher, from Spalding University and Drake Trease, from Westminster College.


SLIAC MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK (OFFENSIVE)
DRAKE TREASE - WESTMINSTER COLLEGE

Westminster's Drake Trease is the SLIAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Trease, a senior, propelled the Blue Jay offense to a pair of conference wins last week. Trease recorded three goals and two assists in the two games as he helped Westminster secure a #2 seed in the upcoming SLIAC Tournament. Trease recorded a goal and an assist in his team's 4-0 win over Fontbonne and followed with two goals and an assist in their 5-0 win over MacMurray. Trease leads the SLIAC in both total points (32) and goals (14) this season.

SLIAC MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK (DEFENSIVE)
JOEY LESHER - SPALDING UNIVERSITY

Joey Lesher, a senior from Spalding University, is the SLIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. The defender not only led the Golden Eagle defense to a pair of conference wins, securing the program's first ever regular season conference title, but he added a goal in each of the two games. The Lesher led defense picked up a 1-0 shutout win over Webster, holding the Gorloks to just two shots on goal. Lesher also netted the game's only goal. He followed with another goal in a win over Iowa Wesleyan that capped an undefeated conference season for Spalding.

  • Kyle Hertel, Webster University (Men's Soccer) Hertel allowed just one goal, making seven saves, in over 172 minutes of action last week.
  • Josh Jaycox, Westminster College (Men's Soccer) The Jaycox led Blue Jays picked up back to back shutouts last week in a pair of conference games.
  • Drew Quisenberry, Webster University (Men's Soccer) Quisenberry scored a natural hat trick in his team's 4-1 win over Eureka.
