Hantack Back As Griffins Head Coach

Fontbonne University Director of Athletics, Maria Buckel, is pleased to announce James Hantack as the Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach.

"Fontbonne Athletics is excited to welcome back James Hantack as our men's and women's tennis coach," said Buckel. "James has led the women's program to their best season in program history a couple years ago and leads the team with such high integrity. Though he took a short hiatus from coaching he has always been following the programs and we're thrilled he missed it and wanted to come back."

Hantack is no stranger to Fontbonne Tennis as he was the head coach from 2014-17. During that stretch, he led the 2016-17 women's team to its first ever tournament round win over Blackburn in the SLIAC Tournament.

He went on to become the first tennis coach in Fontbonne history to pick up SLIAC Coach of the Year honors.

Prior to his first stint with Fontbonne, Hantack served as an assistant tennis teaching professional at Shaw Park Tennis Center, teaching players of all levels the techniques and fundamentals of the sport.

He earned his bachelor's degree in Middle School Education from Lindenwood University in 2007. Hantack picked up his master's degree in Education in 2009 at Lindenwood as well.
