MacMurray Raises Over $1,200 For Cystic Fibrosis

The MacMurray College volleyball team hosted a Cystic Fibrosis Awareness day during a quad match with fellow SLIAC schools on Saturday, Sept. 9 and raised over $1,200.

Proceeds from a silent auction as well as donations at the door allowed the team to present a check for $1,204 to Jan Thompson of the Cystic Fibrosis Gateway Chapter in St. Louis this past Thursday.

Cystic Fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the world's leader in the search to cure cystic fibrosis. Their mission is to provide all people with cystic fibrosis the opportunity to lead full, productive lives by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatment and ensuring access to high-quality, specialized care.
