SLIAC Update on Fan Attendance Standards

SLIAC Update on Fan Attendance Standards

The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference President's Council met recently to share and discuss institutional updates on each campus as they related to various state and local county health mandates. The institutional progress and decisions current to COVID precautions, vaccinations, and testing protocol were discussed. Special attention was directed toward the conference protocol that had been established by the Athletic Directors regarding the attendance of fans at institutional home contests. After review, the Presidents confirmed the established protocol that is listed below for Fall Sports, 2021.

Indoor Contests: Visiting fans are currently being allowed to attend indoor contests at all institutions. All SLIAC institutions are requiring masks for all individuals to enter indoor facilities for the purpose of attending an athletic event. Additionally, the Athletic Administration of each institution is also requesting that appropriate social distancing be practiced while in attendance. Separate home and visiting team fan sections may be developed at various institutions to further enhance institutional safety measures. Please note - Blackburn College has very limited space (17 seats) due to the capacity of the facility, therefore visiting fans will need to request admission by email in advance.  Please contact the Blackburn Athletic Director - Rob Steinkuehler (robert.steinkuehler@blackburn.edu) to have your name placed on the 'first come-first serve' Pass List.

Outdoor Contests: All SLIAC institutions are currently allowing all fans to attend outdoor athletic contests with no specific restrictions. Fans are being asked to properly practice social distancing whenever possible.

The Fall – 2021 SLIAC fan attendance protocol will be reviewed continuously and is subject to immediate change if conditions should warrant such protocol to be modified.
