SLIAC Members Hold Fundraisers to Fight Cancer

At the end of January, the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and its members joined up to hold various fundraisers in the fight against Cancer. Beginning in 2017, the SLIAC and its members have held a conference-wide campaign to join together in the fight against Cancer. This year conference members collected a total of $1285  among the four schools reporting as of this week.

Spalding University led the charge, collecting $542 during its fundraisers during and prior to its home basketball games. Westminster College collected nearly $300, as well as household items for families while working with the Super Sam Foundation. Blackburn College raised $224 and coaches joined in the campaign by wearing sneakers to help raise awareness. And Webster University collected $219 through a 50/50 raffle at its basketball games.

The SLIAC began its conference-wide initiative in 2017, aligning with the national Coaches vs. Cancer week held by the American Cancer Society. The campaign is part of the SLIAC's end of the year SAAC Service Award which awards points based on donations, items collected, and community service.
