Webster Raises Over $1,000 for Dig Pink

On Wednesday, October 13th the Webster University volleyball team hosted Fontbonne (Mo.) University for their annual Dig Pink Game. Despite dropping the five-set thriller, the Gorloks were able to reach their fundraising goal of over $1,000. They raised a grand total of $1,023 with $189 of that coming from t-shirt sales and the rest coming from individual donations, a 50-50 raffle, and a silent auction.

Fontbonne University also played a big factor in the fundraiser as they donated four baskets for the silent auction. In addition, the volleyball team received generous donations from Starbucks, Ginger Bay Salon, and Arch Apparel.

"I am so thankful for this year's team and their hard work to achieve this goal." Said Head Volleyball Coach, Merry Graf. "They did an awesome job collecting donations, advertising, decorating, and creating an amazing atmosphere for our event. Also, big thanks to Fontbonne University's volleyball team for contributing baskets for our silent auction."

In 10 years Dig Pink has raised more than $15 million dollars for Side-Out's metastatic breast cancer clinical trials and created a community of advocates more than 9,000 teams strong. What started as founder Rick Dunetz two passions colliding unexpectedly, has become an experience that anyone can connect with – not just volleyball players and coaches. Side Out's greatest ambition is to cultivate life-long advocates, extending the lives of those living with advanced metastatic breast cancer, and revolutionizing the trajectory of breast cancer treatments forever.
