Burroughs and Price Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

Abby Burroughs and Katie Price were named to the 2020 CoSIDA Softball Academic All-District 5 team. The pair are the only student-athletes from the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference to earn the recognition this spring.

Burroughs, from Webster University, earns First-Team District 5 honors after carrying a 3.71 cumulative grade point average in Biological Sciences at Webster. In the classroom during her four-year Gorlok career, Burroughs has been a three-time Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete and is a two-time St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Spring All-Academic Team selection. She is a career .332 hitter, scoring 97 runs, with 26 doubles, 17 home runs, and 89 RBI. Her 17 career home runs are sixth on the school's all-time list. Burroughs is the first Webster softball player to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District honors in at least 13 years.

Price, from Westminster College, holds a 3.96 grade-point average while majoring in Mathematics/Economics/Spanish. She is a former SLIAC Pitcher of the Year winner (2018) and was named All-Conference three times in her career while being named All-Region in 2018. This marks the second time in her career she has been named Academic All-District, also earning the honor in 2018.
