SLIAC Women's Track and Field Players of the Week - April 10

This week's SLIAC Players of the Week are Alyssa Feldewert, from Webster University and Meghan Illig, from Webster University.


SLIAC WOMEN'S FIELD PLAYER OF THE WEEK - APRIL 10
ALYSSA FELDEWERT, WEBSTER UNIVERSITY
 

Alyssa Feldewert, of Webster University, is the SLIAC Women's Field Player of the Week. Competing in both the javelin and discus Feldewert was able to pick up two top seven finishes. She placed first in the javelin, with a distance of 35.06 meters, the longest throw this season among SLIAC competitors. She placed seventh in the discus with a distance of 27.80 meters at the Big Blue Invite.

MEGHAN ILLIG, WEBSTER UNIVERSITY

Meghan Illig is the SLIAC Women's Track Player of the Week after two first-place finishes at the Big Blue Invite. Illig, a junior from St. Louis, Mo., took first in both the 100 meter and 400-meter hurdles, setting school records in both events. She finished the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 15.41 seconds and the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:03.56 seconds.

Other Notables:

  • Merideth Bartley, Spalding University (Track and Field) Bartley set a school record in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.16 seconds.
  • Shannon McCaul, Westminster College (Track and Field) McCaul placed first in both the 800-meter race and the 3000-meter steeplechase at the CMU Invite.
