MacMurray Tops $1,600 In Donations For Cystic Fibrosis

The MacMurray College volleyball team hosted their annual Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Day back in September with fellow SLIAC schools. Proceeds from a silent auction as well as donations at the door allowed the Highlanders to raise well over last year's amount, raising over $1,600 for the Cystic Fibrosis Gateway Chapter in St. Louis.

Prior to their last home match, the team presented Jan Thompson of the Cystic Fibrosis Gateway Chapter a check for $1,640.

Cystic Fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the world's leader in the search to cure cystic fibrosis. Their mission is to provide all people with cystic fibrosis the opportunity to lead full, productive lives by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatment and to ensure access to high-quality, specialized care.

The Highlander volleyball team concluded their 2018 season with a 10-21 overall record, 7-11 in the SLIAC – their best conference finish since 2005.
