Popovic Named Interim Head Coach of Tigers Volleyball

Iowa Wesleyan University Director of Athletics, Derek Zander announced this morning that Aleksandra Popovic will serve as the interim head volleyball coach. She will oversee the recruiting and spring season while a national search for a head coach is being conducted.

"We are happy to have Coach Popovic step in and continue recruitment for the 2019 season," stated Derek Zander.  "Coach Popovic has been part of this program for four years now and I have no doubt she will be able to recruit student-athletes for the 2019 incoming class while continuing to build off the recent success of this program."

Popovic graduated from Campbellsville University with a degree in Sports Management in 2015 and played two years of volleyball while there. Prior to attending Campbellsville, she received her Associates Degree of Arts and Sciences from Mineral Area College in Missouri. While there, she was a two-year member of the volleyball team and was part of the team that made school history.  The team won Region XVI for the first time ever and went on to the National Tournament and finished 10th in the nation.

Popovic is a native of Belgrade, Serbia and came to the United States in August of 2011.
