Weber Returns to Blackburn as Head Coach

Blackburn College has named Blackburn Alum Jay Weber to head the track and cross-country programs.  Weber was most recently the head cross country coach and assistant track and field coach at Gillespie High School in Gillespie, Illinois.  Prior to Gillespie, Weber served as the head track and field coach at Pawnee High School in Pawnee, Illinois.  He also served as the head cross-country coach at Auburn High School also in Illinois for five years.

Weber's teams in the past have been conference champions, and regional champions and many of his performers were Illinois State Qualifiers.

Weber graduated with bachelor's degrees from Blackburn in both 2002 and 2011. He holds a master's of arts from Concordia University-Chicago, graduating in 2017.  Weber has a USATF Level 1 Track and Field Coaching Certification in 2020 w/Cross Country Specialist. One year later Weber gained a USATF Level 2 Track and Field Coaching Certification w/Endurance Specialization.
